Phenomenally Fatal Update?

Source: HOWrestling.com

Upon further investigation into a report leaked yesterday here on HOWrestling.com, we have finally confirmed the details of what can only be described as an the emotional phone call that High Octane rookie Griffin Faze received right before his Invitational match with Ethan Cavanaugh on Turmoil.

For those of you aware of the footage that was shown over on HOTv, we were left to speculate why Griffin's mother - a woman whom he maintains a distant relationship with and hadn't spoken to in years - called the budding superstar literally minutes before one of the most critical matches of his young career.  Here is that footage, in case you missed it:

----

"Mom?" I ask her, worried about the purpose of her call.

She never called... not unless it was an emergency, and even those were a topic of debate.

"It's Ryan..." she replied, her voice trembling.

"What is it?  What happened?"

It felt like my heart was beating a thousand times per minute, or so it seemed as my focus on Ethan Cavanaugh and the Invitational tournament quickly became distorted as a million different thoughts ran throughout my head.

"Mom?!?  ANSWER ME!  What happened to Ryan?"

No answer.

My stomach sinking, I looked down at my phone and noticed the two glaring words staring at me in bold.

Dead Battery

----

We can only imagine what was going through his head at the time.  With all that had been going on with Ryan Faze - the life-threatening overdose of painkillers, the risky lifestyle, the health problems, the ring rust and the extreme sense of jealousy  - there wasn't much to be optimistic about concerning the phone call.  Did he overdose again?  Or even worse, did he kill himself?

Fortunately, Griffin was able bring light to those concerns by charging his phone long enough during his match to re-connect with his mother immediately after regaining consciousness.

He had braced himself for the worst, even fumbled his phone in hesitation before dialing the last number in his call history.  What he found was unexpected - that Ryan had gone back home to Cleveland and broken down to their parents; admitting that he had done Griffin wrong in so many ways, that he was afraid his brother would never allow him an opportunity for reconciliation.

Several workers backstage at the Kallisten Coliseum confirmed that Griffin and his mother spoke for several more minutes - tears strolling down his cheeks - before Griffin gathered his duffel bag and drove straight to the airport.  Several hours later, he would arrive in Cleveland still dressed in his ring gear.

Now not much is known about what's gone down between his arrival and now, but a source of ours in Cleveland has confirmed that the Faze brothers have been seen on speaking terms and have even taken a trip to the local gym together - leading us to believe that they potentially plan on being at Turmoil next week.

If anything, we'll bring you more details of the developing news story between Griffin and Ryan Faze, the brothers of Alpha Beta Slam, as soon as we hear word.
